RED CROSS RESPONSE TO THE REFUGEE CRISIS IN ITALY

CLIENT: British Red Cross
DATES: August 2017
LOCATION: Different locations in Italy

ASSIGNMENT: More than 173,500 migrants arrived in Italy in 2016 after being rescued on the Central Mediterranean route. Over 4,200 people are known to have died making the journey in 2016.

The presence of the Red Cross from the ports through to reception centres means the Red Cross is uniquely placed to respond to migration and trafficking in Italy. The Red Cross has contact with every migrant disembarking at a port in the country.

The main strategic objective of this assignment is to gather unique multimedia content from different Red Cross camps in Italy. The content must capture the reality for the thousands of refugees and migrants in Italy.
